Constraints: Limiting Possibilities

Students are penalized for taking more time to evaluate a question.

Quicker doesn't mean smarter but it's rewarded in this resource.

Students need devices to engage in class-wide quiz.

A way to interact with a world map by searching and dragging countries to compare their true size

Word Cloud Generator

A visual approach to summarizing a concept or analyzing text.

Does not combine words that mean the same things.

Not all your words fit all of the time in the design chosen.

Free. Able to access manipulatives not found in my middle school classroom (Tangrams, Canadian currency, Abacus) that are relevant to cultures we study. 

Constraints: Limiting Possibilities

Geared for elementary school students. Many of the educational games have little educational content

Simple and quick to use to create a multitude of eye-pleasing color palettes for any project!

Suggests colors that work well with selected ones.

Online tool to make and publish books

Affordances: Opening possibilities

Students can create their own books. Lots of freedom and options can lead to student creativity flourishing.  Books can be read to students in any language. No limit to the number of pages in a book. Can create comic books.

Constraints: Limiting Possibilities

In the free version, each educator can only have 40 books in their "library" at a time.

All the options might be overwhelming to some students.
