Qualifications
From Michigan State University I received my Bachelor in Secondary Social Studies Education (History, Geography, Government & Economics) with minors in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), Spanish and Chicano/Latino Studies as well as the Annette and Jim McConnell Pre-Service Teacher of the Year Award

After receiving my bachelor's I spent a year on the World Race, an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 different countries. I taught in a variety of schools in Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia as well as tutored and translated in South America.

I'm also currently pursuing a Master in Educational Technology through Michigan State and anticipate completing the program in the summer of 2023.
Teaching
This spring I finished three years as a World History teacher at a middle school in rural Colorado. I also taught the electives of Exploring World Cultures and Spanish.
I'm currently the director of the English as a Second Language (ESL) department at Coal Ridge High School in rural Colorado and teach at Colorado Mountain College as an adjunct professor of Adult ESL and Adult High School Equivalency.

In the summer of 2024, my husband and I will be leaving Colorado to go teach at Rift Valley Academy, a K-12 Christian boarding school with American curriculum in Kijabe, Kenya.
